Transportation Services
Aircraft Restoration Company have overhauled and restored many historic
aircraft for overseas clients, and as such, have developed a wealth of
experience in the specialized transportation of aircraft by either sea, road or
air. This includes obtaining the necessary paperwork required to export /
import ex-military aircraft, e.g. Export licences and HSE classification coding.
A variety of aircraft have been expertly dismantled, containerised and
transported to America, Canada, New Zealand and a host of European
countries.
Photos show a Spitfire Mk IX, which was dismantled and containerized for
shipping to the USA. The aircraft was carefully dismantled, then placed on Aframe
and wing trestle supports in the shipping container, and tightly secured
with ratchet straps. Nothing can afford to move during transit. Securing the
aircraft into the container has to be a carefully planned procedure, especially
as there is often but a few centimeters to spare in both width and height.

The aircraft arrived safely in the USA, where it was carefully removed from the
container and speedily re-assembled by Aircraft Restoration Company engineers.
Other aircraft expertly dismantled and transported to various locations include:
Avro York, Hawker Hunter, Vampire, Corsair, Beech Staggerwing, FW190,
P51 Mustang, Pilatus P2, Fairey Battle, Fieseler Storch, RAF Bulldogs,
Chipmunk, Spitfire, Harvard, Lysander.
